Spec-heavy long-range combo at a semi-professional price.
The short version
On paper the X1 out-specs everything else here. At $499 with only a few hundred reviews, it is a confident buy for experienced pilots and an expensive gamble for anyone else.

The spec sheet
4K/60 HDR, 48 MP stills, full 360° obstacle avoidance, a 9.32-mile link and three batteries in the box. There is nothing here a hobbyist would call missing, and vertical shooting plus night modes are aimed squarely at social output.
The catch
$499 is about five times our winner's verified price. It also buys a shorter public track record — 426 reviews against thousands for the DJI models — which matters when you're betting on firmware and support. For a first drone this is the wrong end of the market.
Verdict
A strong fifth place: excellent hardware, wrong price for the person reading a 'best budget drone' page.
