Nothing here is bad. The Neo is a clever, well-built little drone with genuinely good stabilised footage and the palm-launch trick never stops being satisfying. It ranks below our winner purely on value: you're paying $40 more for a drone most first-time buyers will fly in the same back-garden radius.

What it does well

Subject tracking is the headline. Push a button, it lifts off your hand, picks you up and orbits or follows. For anyone filming themselves — running, skating, walking a dog — it removes the tripod problem entirely.

Propeller guards mean you can fly it indoors near people without wincing, and the 135 g weight keeps it out of registration paperwork.

Where it falls short

Range and wind tolerance are the compromises for that size and weight. Controller-free flying is fun but imprecise, and stock has been thin — two units left at the price we recorded. Amazon pricing on the Neo also moves week to week, so confirm before you buy.
